Vanilla Cashew Milk - Recipe

(Dairy free, Gluten free, Paleo, Whole 30)

Buying dairy free milk (especially cashew milk) can be really pricey but you can make your own at home for a fraction of the cost. Especially if you stock up on raw nuts at Costco. Plus, it tastes better and doesn't have all the random additives that a lot of dairy free milk has. To make this milk more flavorless, skip the vanillla.


Ingredients
  • 2 pitted dates

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 cup raw cashews

  • 4 + 2/3 cups filtered water

  • 1/4 coconut cream


High Speed Blender is necessary for this recipe


Directions
  1. Put cashews in a bowl and cover with water. Put on lid and soak in fridge for 6 hours or overnight.

  2. Dump out water and cashews into a strainer and rinse.

  3. Put cashews, vanilla, salt, coconut cream and water into high speed blender.

  4. Blend on high until blended thoroughly and it starts to foam.

  5. Put in containers with lids and store in fridge


    * Stir or shake well before each use as it settles.

    * Good for up to 1 week.
